Laying The Groundwork for Profitable, Tech-Driven, and Sustainable Insurance Services

On Thursday, October 26 2023, SoftwareAG and Indocyber, held a seminar titled "Laying The Groundwork for Profitable, Tech-Driven, and Sustainable Insurance Services" at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta. The event, attended by 30 participants from various insurance companies in Indonesia.

Highlighted the use of technology and sustainability in insurance business services. The seminar featured expert speakers from the insurance services industry, addressing the challenges and developments in the current digital era. The session began with a keynote speech from Mrs. Tjhai Fung Cin, Director of Indocyber Global Teknologi, emphasizing the need for companies to embrace technological transformation to remain competitive. Following this, Mr. Rendy Adhisurya, Country Manager of SoftwareAG, shared a success story on technology transformation in the insurance services business and the latest technological advancements that can be applied to enhance operational efficiency. 

The next session featured the first presentation delivered by the VP Head of Technology at AIA Indonesia, Mr. Lioe Jono Indrawijaya. In his presentation, he discussed "WebMethods Microservices Runtime," emphasizing AIA's success in implementing webmethods-based technology in their business processes. The use of this technology is driven by current business challenges in the insurance industry, one of which is system integration.

The second presentation was given by the Head of IT System Development at AXA Mandiri Financial Services, Mr. Roy Kusrahmadi, with the topic "AXA Mandiri Financial Services Experience in Technology." This presentation shared AXA Mandiri Financial Services' experience in technology transformation within their business processes. He discussed the current challenges faced by the company, such as determining strategies to expand the micro-insurance segment and targeting a broader and more diverse range, especially underserved communities. He also shared the success story of the company's implementation of WebMethods in their business processes, along with plans for future technology expansion.

The third presentation was delivered by representatives from SoftwareAG, including Mr. Michael Cross, VP Alliances & Channel Asia Pacific & Japan, and Mr. Rendy Adhisurya, Country Manager of SoftwareAG.

Mr. Michael Cross explained "2023 Technology Priorities," starting with an overview of the current modern enterprise landscape, emphasizing the critical importance of data in today's business processes. He highlighted how the data can be stored and shared across applications seamlessly. In response to this, he presented the top 10 technology priorities for 2023, including faster time-to-value, cost-efficiency, maximized value from data, and engagement from anywhere.

The second SoftwareAG presentation was delivered by Country Manager Mr. Rendy Adhisurya, focusing on "Digital Transformation in Insurance." Based on the challenges previously discussed, he provided solutions that can be applied by insurance services companies to address these challenges. He outlined the application of technology in business processes and the benefits derived from implementing such technology.

The final session was dedicated to a Q&A session where participants raised questions to the speakers. Some of the questions focused on addressing the challenges of technological transformation in the digital era, problem-solving in insurance services business processes, and sharing experiences from companies that have already implemented such technology. The event concluded with a door prize giveaway and a group photo.
