Seminar Nasional APPI 2023: Economic Outlook 2024

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Indocyber Global Teknologi was a speaker at the APPI National Seminar: Economic Outlook 2024, presenting the topic of Generative AI. The seminar took place at The Raffles Hotel Jakarta and attracted approximately 70 participants from financing companies in Indonesia
The event kicked off with an opening address by Mr. Suwandi Wiratno, the Chairman of APPI, who discussed the growing complexity of Indonesia's economic landscape. He emphasized the urgent need for financial industry leaders to adapt to the ongoing digital transformation and renew their business strategies. Mr. Wiratno underscored the importance of formulating strategic business plans within their respective companies.
The next agenda featured a keynote speech by Mr. Agusman, the Executive Head of Supervision of Venture Capital Financing Institutions, Microfinance Institutions, and Financial Services Authority (OJK). During his speech, he highlighted several aspects, including the 16-17% growth in Indonesia's assets and receivables in the first three months of 2023, projecting a positive economic outlook for the country.
He stated, “The projected national economic growth rate for Indonesia in 2024 is 5.2%, higher than figures reported by external institutions such as the IMF and World Bank.”
The following session focused on Business Prospects, Opportunities, and Challenges, featuring speakers such as Mr. Johannes Loman, the Chairman of AISI, who discussed the Motorcycle Industry in 2024; Mr. Jongkie Sugiarto, Chairman of GAIKINDO, who addressed the Automotive Industry in 2024; and Mr. Etot Listyono, the Chairman of PAABI, who shared insights on the Heavy Equipment Industry in 2024. These speakers delved into current and future trends in their respective industries, offering prospects and strategic plans for the upcoming year.
The session also included an engaging Q&A session where participants interacted with the speakers, with one question focusing on the appropriate business and financial strategies in the current era of digital transformation. In response, one of the speakers emphasized the need for adaptability in business operations, stating, “Being adaptive, applicable, and thinking outside the box are essential mindsets for financial institutions to thrive in the future.”
These mindsets are vital in predicting and strategizing in response to the often-fluctuating economic cycles.
The session concluded with presentations by Indocyber Global Teknologi, delivered by Ms. Tjhai Fung Cin, Director of Sales, who discussed the trends in generative AI in current business processes. She also provided insights into the technologies that will shape the global economy until 2025 and what companies should prepare for in response.
Mr. Daviant Mahawira Sadarusman from 3Dolphins.ai followed with a presentation on Generative AI in the Financial Industry. He highlighted the various aspects in which AI can help companies grow and consistently improve. He addressed the challenges faced by financial institutions and how AI-based technology solutions can resolve these issues.
The event concluded with a closing speech by Mr. Raden Pardede, an Economic Expert, who discussed the Economic Outlook for 2024. He elaborated on the global situations that could pose threats and challenges to the world and Indonesia's economy in the near future. Additionally, he touched upon the current domestic economic conditions, political economy, and concluded the seminar.
The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to each speaker and a group photo session.
